Day 97: Winter Attempting to Hold On…
The cold front that prompted last night’s central Oklahoma squall line is continuing to move east. Severe thunderstorm watches are currently in effect ahead of the cold front from portions of central Louisiana northeastward into far southwest Ohio. In the wake of the cold front, frost and freeze warnings have been issued for parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. I wonder if this is winter’s last gasp? Only time will tell…

Patrick Marsh is a Ph.D. student at the University of Oklahoma's School of Meteorology. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Physics (cum laude) from the University of Arkansas in 2005 and a Masters of Science in Meteorology in 2007.
