About
I am a Ph.D. student in the School of Meteorology (SoM) at the University of Oklahoma (OU). I came to OU in the fall of 2005 after earning a Bachelors of Science in Physics (H) and Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. In 2007 I completed my Masters of Science in Meteorology, here at OU.
In addition to being a student, I also serve as the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) Liaison to the Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT).
My current affiliations include the SoM, the Cooperative Institute of Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS), and the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL). In addition to being a graduate student, I also have responsibilities in the Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT), primarily related to the Experimental Forecast Program (EFP) – a joint forecast experiment held annually by NSSL and the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). My current responsibilities include:
- Support of the HWT real-time data flow during Experimental Activities (EAs) (including any model data coming from external partners, and transmission of experimental data to other partners);
- creation and management of EA data archives;
- collaborations related to development and maintenance of EA web pages;
- active participation in EA daily exercises;
- development, testing, and execution of code, software, and systems for the display and interrogation of experimental forecast products;
- creation of software to display relevant experimental analysis and forecast datasets and products in workstations used in SPC operations;
- and management of requests by external scientists for experimental datasets.
